WHAT IS IT?
A longstanding tradition with Redmond High School Cross Country, the first week of the season we host the Coach Villeneuve Community Run 5k. This race honors Denis Villeneuve, the former head coach of Redmond XC for 35+ years, serves as a time trial for our athlete's first 5k race of the season, and is our biggest annual fundraiser.
WHO CAN RUN?
All Redmond Cross Country athletes run this race and all community members, friends, family, alumni race alongside them on the Hartman Park cross country coruse.
WHEN IS IT?
The first Saturday of the Cross Country season, typically the last Saturday in August. You can pre-register or sign up the day of the race starting at 8:30am. The race begins at 10:00am and the kids 1k race is directly after the 5k at 10:45am.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
$20 per runner or $50 per family, with price increases the day of. The race is sponsored by the Redmond XC Booster Club. All money directly supports the boys and girls cross country program at Redmond High School. We use this money to fund team t-shirts, pasta feeds, equipment and more.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
Click here to register. Redmond athletes do not need to register. Family, community members, middle schoolers, and younger siblings all need to register.
ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL TRADITIONS?
Yes! All RHS XC alumni are recognized at the starting line right before the race starts. Our cross country athletes debut their team t-shirts designed by our senior captains. It is our athlete's first time trial and kick off for the fall cross country season. After the 5K there is a casual little kids 1K race.
